haha, I can see not only that, but a new "No fire on the stage/premises" rule being created due her stunt (Akin of Korra in the probending sport, the judges had to create the rule on the spot of "The avatar can participate, but she can only water bend" (I read somewhere the rule was changed later, something like "The avatar can participate, but she must chose either fire, earth or water bending at the beginning of the season and stick only to that element"
Could a gas tanker crash into the building just as she's spitting flames and destroy the entire venue? Very possible! You sound insane. You can't ward against every possibility. Next you will say just because she CAN make fire she shouldn't be allowed to show up at all. Might as well close the whole place down because anyone can be a murderer. It's insane.
The idea is to heavily discourage people from using fire because of the very high likelihood that someone doing it carelessly would burn down the stage by accident. If the only punishment for not setting anything on fire is a warning then someone might get the idea that it's fine to do as long as they don't set anything on fire, and then they get a little too careless one time, and then the stage catches fire. Musicians do like their pyrotechnics.
Better to just not have anything close to the risk in the first place.

Why are you being so hypocritical against Kaya? She is literally a teenage dragon at this point much like Jake Long was. In their world dragons and other mystical creatures are considered to be rare and are often studied by doctors rather than being taught about their gifts. Instead of judgement they should be treated with understanding and care as they are special and need to know they are welcome and not to be shunned.
Kaya really should be glad that she was only disqualified since she could have accidentally started a fire and killed a lot of innocent people. Stuff involving fire should be taken seriously. Reminds me of a fire that happened more than 10 years ago at a nightclub in the city of Santa Maria in the brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. More than 200 people unfortunately died in that tragedy all because one of the members of the band that was playing that night decided to use a firework in a place with a low ceiling. It was all over the news for a long time here and it's still talked to this day.
Okay like many others I have to call BS on that one, while I understand the rule about fire but at the same time her song was already done. Plus they didn't exactly tell her that there was no rule against fire and also she's a dragon and that seems more like an accident and she just got to excited.
I don't know I feel like disqualifying her is going to cause an uproar with the crowd especially since her song was already finished and she was just promoting herself. You know I feel like Noma later is going to give the trophie/prize money to Kaya feeling like she was the one who actually won the contest.

It's bloody COMMON SENSE that you NEVER use fire in a public place iwthout informing the people running the place so they can have precautions in place. I'm sorry, but they need to ban Kaya for this stunt. There is no possible alternative if they want to be allowed to hold cons from now on after that stunt. They're GOING to be getting angry letters about the idiot dragon who endangered everyone!
It's more likely the crowd is going to attack Kaya, verbally or even physically, for doing something so insanely, stupidly dangerous! And honestly, a lot will be laughing at Keya. She better not be getting any sympathy, this is a case of buttering your bread, then eating it!

Fire causes panic. Panic causes fear. And fear leads to STAMPEDE!!!!
She's gonna be REALLY lucky if she didn't just open up a REAL can of worms, accidentally demonstrating that she's got super powers on stage. In real life, a thing like this would lead to a LOT of racism/speciesism/whatever. Because people fear things they cannot control

Fun Fact: I was at BronyCon over a decade ago in New Jersey (before they moved to Baltimore), and a part of the ceiling WAS caught on fire and lead to the center to be temporarily evacuated. Thankfully nobody got hurt but that was freaking scary. Fire is no fucking joke.
Hey Flitchard!
Glad you are enjoying the comic and are actively commenting, but don't overdo it. Some of your comments to others can seem a little hostile. You're completely right in your reasoning about fire safety, but do keep in mind this is a lighthearted comedy comic. No super serious consequences are gonna happen and no one is getting dragons banned from events in the future.
Still, I want to stress, you are completely right on the subject of fire safety in realistic settings. It's exactly why we have strict laws about them. Just take it down a notch when discussing them. We are all friends here and we want to keep it that way ^^
