Maybe if I stab myself enough times in my side, the itch won't be quite as agonizing. It feels like I'm being bitten by a million mosquitos. I've put half a tube of hydrocortisone on it and it STILL itches.

FML. I think I'm allergic to the flower I got from my date. OH THE IRONY.

tryyyyyyy,,, ice. in my cryotherapy class, I learned that it's safe to apply ice to the skin for a maximum of 30 minutes, 15 for shallow places like the forearm, but if it's your side, the ice will have it numb after 10. if you can stand it, that is, because it's pretty intense until it's numb.

First off, is it on your ribs, and secondly, how old are you? if you're still young, and it's on your ribs. . . it could be shingles. Essentially, the adult version of chicken pox. Which you CAN get twice. I got shingles when I was 13, it was INCREDIBLY itchy, to the point of being painful, and it was all along my ribs. If it persists for more than a day and it's getting hard to sleep, see a doctor. Shingles can be very dangerous, and so can a bad allergic reaction.
Allergic reactions tend to sprout up on the face, hands, and the underside of the arms, though. *is dealing with hives right now*

Woah, really? I didn't think you could get shingles if you've already had the chickenpox... but man, I'll keep that in mind. If it doesn't get better by Monday, I'm going to call into our school's clinic and see if the doctor can help me out with that.
I've had them all along my left hand/arm before... but this is the first time it's been on my ribs. Hope your hives get better! D:

yeah, ribs says shingles, to me. . . not allergy. I've almost *never* heard of anyone getting hives on their ribs. Stomach yes. . . and they tend to be in little patches. Shingles are all along your ribs, in lines. Best way to diagnose before you see a doctor is to look at pictures online and compare
I had shingles when I was pregnant and they wouldnt give me anything for it because of the baby, but it was on my ribs on one side only and in a big blob, not a line.
it was HELL. I used soooo much calamine lotion and pinetarsol i smelled like a pine tree -.- i scratched it just a bit and i still have scars from them 7 years later :(
hope its not shingles, but you should get checked out in case.

Um, When my husband got chicken pox (at 28) The doctor said you can't get shingles when your young UNTIL you get chicken pox, because shingles is the chicken pox virus flaring up again because it never really goes away, it stays in your nerves. I didnt think you could get it at 13?
Oh no, you can. I did. -_- So did my husband, and my violin teacher's daughter, so it wasn't an isolated incident.
If its shingles it'll start doing a lot more than just itching soon. If you can Centradragon I do recommend popping in to see a doctor: you'll want to get treatment for it ASAP. It'll minimize the pain.

I thought shingles was more common in the 60 age group. I really hope your rash ain't some kind of blisters break, if it does that then it's gonna start forming small ulcers that begin to dry and form crusts. The crusts fall off in 2 to 3 weeks. At least scarring is rare! That'll happen if you got the case of shingles.
The rash usually involves a narrow area from the spine around to the front of the belly area or chest.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it's not shingles!

I have gotten a few headaches, but I couldn't say if that's normal or if it would be a symptom (it's early in the semester, just moved back to my apartment, etc).
Maaaan you need to get yourself to bed then! I'm probably gonna go try to lay down soon, as fun as it is to draw late at night. XD

Ah I see what you mean. Well all in all let's see what the good doctor man (or lady) will be able to tell you.
lol, all my best ideas flood into my tired mind at night. I'm so glad no one rooms with me or I'd keep them up at night with my list making of things that need to get drawn.

Lol, whatever scrap piece of paper I have on my desk does just fine and then I thumb-tack it to my wall next to the laptop. Unfortunately more ideas flood in when I'm at my classes, my brain wants me to do something far more interesting when I get home. X3
It really does, it surprises me sometimes but I do get the best ideas during that state of awakeness and dreams.
