This was indeed a great attempt on my part to portray one of the Star Characters of the Inheritance Cycle, Saphira. I long held off posting it here because it was unfinished.

Doing a detailed portrait by hand in pencil I first thought was hard enough, but then later the thought of coloring it struck me, and I had to try. Many, MANY months later, I've finally finished.

This was started earlier in the year, as a personal project to portray what I think Saphira should look like. I didn't follow the description in full, but I think I've done well enough, and I like her as she is.

The long process began as I first attempted to color her in one fell swoop. This attempt failed as I found that she is too detailed. So then I took up the task of coloring each of the few thousand scales that I had drawn on her one by one.

Weeks crawled by as I began my slow process. Starting from the nose, and going on little by little, I saw how Saphira was coming to life before me. As long as the process was, I loved it. But then my time was consumed by other tasks and sadly Saphira was neglected and forgotten as I was so close to finishing.

Thanks to some user's comments I was reminded of her and now, finally the task is done, and I present the completion of my labor.

<u>I'll be keeping the unfinished drawing up for a bit as I attempt to inform all the people who faved it that it's been updated and finished, and that soon the unfinished drawing will be taken down and deleted.</u>

The next picture I plan to attempt will be Thorn. I will also make a video of me working on the picture as it's being colored, so that people might guess how long it actually takes me to color it.
