Vanilla and CW actually had a history together, fighting over various of trivial things.
They formed a bit of a rivalry with each other over the years for who gets what or who's better in what.
When the two found out that they both had a potential romantic interest in the famous Thorndyke scientist, they turned their interest into determination to take him before the other does.
Chris is too nice and tries numerous times to turn down gently, but it's never been effective enough...He ends up having them fight over him on occasions, letting each attempt to woo him getting more extreme as it goes on...
His friends just watch it all happen, feeling a bit discomfort from it all.
It's already pretty messy, so don't tell a certain crocodile about all this...
