Finally started on something good. Only about half a minute anyway.
My plan is that after I finish this, I will string all of them together to make a complete animation.
Ouch. I've really wasted my life in the last 3 days doing this. About 2-3 hours on the music, and 10 hours on the animation itself. Music is totally composed by myself in FL studio, with a couple of borrowed sound effects.
Next one would come out indefinitely. I only animate when I have the time, so can't keep up with deadlines.
Oh well. Enjoy this! And constructive criticism is welcome, as usual.
I have a request for you guys: Help me think of what can happen next. I'm counting on your ideas to help me make the next part. It could be anything, I'll pick the one I like the most (or combine some ideas)

Very well done! Very good pacing on the animation. This has a nice sense of urgency that holds interest really well. The music does an excellent job of driving the pace, too. Well done building this up to a strong climax.
The fox lowering his head implies the meteor is about to land right on him. I think it'd be better if he ducked behind the rock. Also (and I say this because I'm a sound guy) his footsteps would be great effects to add. I'd love to hear him stepping on grass, then hopping over the upturned earth when he looks closer. That transition from high-pitched grass to low-pitched earth will really add to the mystery of his situation. And the eyes opening up from the smoke are begging for a music sting or some kind of effect as well.

Yup. Thanks again for the awesomely constructive feedback!
I didn't really draw walk cycles for Ferrel (yep. That's what I christened him) so I didn't get a chance to use footstep sounds. Maybe except the beginning, but it would have been drowned out by the music anyway.
I couldn't make him duck under the rock... I did thought of that while storyboarding, but I realized since it was a top view, he'd still be seen even if he ducked.
I'm still waiting for ideas from people for the next part, so I can set the mood for what the eyes are for. Robotic? Alien? Or something just silly?
I like the idea of sound effects, but I'm not really planning to depend too much on them, some subtle ones are fine but not to the extent of distracting the viewer.

With that music and those eyes, the alien's gotta be hostile. A big black blob (or maybe a different color because black's overdone) that tries to engulf the poor cute foxy, but he struggles and manages to break free and escape!
...And then mayyyyybe something else happens afterwards!

I love music, especially the piano part.
my idea would be something like that, the immediate aftermath of this scene focuses on the fox looking up and covers her a giant shadow, begins a ruthless pursuit until ... chapter continues with more emotion ..
I think it would be more exciting not to see that creature is, until later. I hope you like the idea, Greetings!

Very nice work so far. The music really added a strong and serious mood for this. It would be a shame to veer off and do something enitrely silly after having built it up like this (unless of course you end up doing multiple endings).
As for my contribution to the idea generation: the dark blob does look hostile, but what if it’s not against the fox? What if the fox just happened to be a bystander in a greater conflict? Then reluctantly at first they team together against the bigger threat. Eh now I’m sounding too cliché. Something more along the first part I said, to give some the story an unexcited twist without breaking the mood.
Also the music should be made longer and submitted as a separate submission so I can listen to it when urgency is required. Like a deadline for an assignment approaching. ;)

Oh my god!! How could I miss reading this comment???
Anyway, thanks! A dark blob... not doing any intentional harm? O_O Like a good way to create suspense...
I'm adapting the music for the animation, so the music is currently as much as what you hear. I'm adding different suspense levels according to the scenes.

I'd think you would have seen this in my gallery while browsing...
