It's just for the profile info.
I get why you have to set to upload it into your "Scraps" category to make something as your profile ID but I don't know why they wouldn't just let you upload a pic as your profile ID.

IDK I'm not as web developer or anything, I just find it a bit of a hassle to do this song and dance just to update my profile ID.
