There's two versions of the print edition of Somnia Bestiae available, to hopefully balance accessibility, cost, and print quality.
- A paperback version with "standard" color in large size (7" by 10", or 178 by 254 mm)
- A hardcover version with "premium" color in small size (A5, approximately 5.8" by 8.3")
The content of each is the same; the only differences are the size and colors. Lulu's "premium" color printing is very expensive for a book of this length which is why I've decided to make the "standard" paperback version also available. This "standard" edition is more matte in finish than the high-contrast "premium" and does lose some background detail in very dark scenes but is perfectly legible and colorful (and half the price). See the image above for a comparison.
For full disclosure, one of my test copies also had a thin white border left over from the trimming process visible on some pages- it doesn't affect the content but it's something to be aware of regarding Lulu's print variability.
The introductory pricing is detailed below. It's a little higher than I wanted but color printing is expensive! These prices are higher than the raw print cost since a few folks have asked about ways to support me. I still don't plan to offer public commissions or tips, but now you can support me by purchasing a book (and you get a cool book in return). Who knows, maybe I'll add more items to the store eventually ;)
