my friend inherently absorbs all of the terrible luck in randomizers. highlights include:

absolute bare minimum gear to get 50 skulls for an early logic hookshot
sit afk for three hours while me and another friend clear our own oots
repeated archipelago incidents where he sits afk for an hour+ while i clear my game, even when we jack up the progression balancing settings to favor him for more progress faster while we're playing THE SAME GAME (tested with us both on oot, alttp, link's awakening)

He does that all the time. In the three hour one, he ended up crashing attempting some trick or another for fun and spent his fourth hour reclaiming all of his own personal checks. He can't catch a break.

My favorite meme to come out of this randomizer is BK mode where someone got stuck so long that, they went to burger king , got food, came back, ate their food, and they were still stuck till someone got them an item to progress.

Omigod, I feel this. I've been BK'd for a goddamn MONTH in the Archipelago async I'm currently in, and 2 of my four games are near the end, while a third is trapped halfway.
Worst thing? I originally had FIVE games, but I lost interest in one after a while and had it released. I sort of wish I hadn't; I'd have at least SOMETHING to do in the async right about now.

PLEASE! I have 70 Stars already! Someone find me Climb so I can finish the game already. My Burger King is getting cold! I'm hungry!

TBH being able to still progress by prebuilding for the future and improving production is the fun part of doing factorio AP.
