Light and dark, ying and yang, a tale as old as time. When sapience emerged on Earth, so did two spirits emerge: Astra and Lucifer. Both guardians of Death, one light, one dark. Astra is the Guardian of the Soul Garden, takes care of the souls of the dead in her Garden and appoints angels to protect destiny. Lucifer on the other hand is the Judge of Evil, whose task is to punish souls who have done evil in their lives or give them a second chance to redeem themselves as one of his demons. Both work in very different realms, and yet, they are often finding each other's company...

As ancient as they are, so is their love for one another. Astra is Lucifer's light in his life, and one of the few people who truly understands the weight of his duty. And from time to time, Lucifer helps her out in the Garden to find some inner peace in himself as well, though he'd take his job there as seriously as Astra does. They both share a passion for art and music, and have painted thousands of paintings and written many thousands of poems and songs over the millennia. But if there's one thing that plants them in the here and now, it's dancing. In the middle of the Soul Garden, under a pavilion, they have their own private dance floor. They often sing to each other when they dance, a duet of Astra's soprano, and Lucifer's deep baritone voice. Those who have ever witnessed these two dance, claim that their songs sound from a different world...

I really wanted these two to be shown together for once. And thanks to  Bean-Muffin, who made this beautiful piece of artwork, this has now finally become a reality! The two ancient spirits of the Yorktown universe, together as lovers, having a wholesome time together.
