At this time, I am not unconvinced the alternate title to this comic is “Roko Ruins Everything”.
Granted, Roko is probably does have fair concern about what may happen, considering what happen to his body, although, he probably would save a lot of pain and tears if he does just decide talk to Brand & Saida about it. At the very least, I feel Saida would be willing to listen and sympathise with his concern.
Although, would Brand have known Roko long enough to know when Sus Roko is acting Sus?

I don't think Brand knows Roko well at all. From the very little we have of their life, it seemed like Brand thought of Roko as an annoying gnat then a friend.

This feels pretty unplanned. Like so Roko gets them lost deliberately and then what? He flees? He can't stick around to cause misdirection forever.

I guess he could be leading them where they want to go and then screw them over later.

Roko has the stone. He can see the party before they can see him and has twice as many active hours as they do. Fleeing outright would be the simplest solution to his problem.

Once more, I wonder why they tolerate Roko, after he was useful MAYBE once in their entire adventure, and made things worse all the other times. (Angering the Quetz, ticking Darya off, forcing a risky rescue at Suzo's island, alerting people to their presence constantly when they are trying to lay low...)
