I wanted to make something really dynamic to capture his speed. I really like the brush texture (Blackburn on Procreate), I feel that it enhanced the energy of the pose.

I've been on a Sonic kick lately. I hooked up my Genesis to my old tiny CRT to play Sonic 2 and it looks amazing.
The gameplay is so smooth and the original animations and sprite work are stunning; I understand why he's still around (despite some newer flops. Sonic Crossworlds absolutely rips tho, the racing control is tight and the character interactions are a great touch). I also started playing Sonic advance 2 (so I could unlock the chao garden and link it to sa2b) and that has some really great movement mechanics and sprites. God I miss 2d animated games. Can you tell I love Sonic?
