This piece comes with a back story:
Er hem! Once a upon a time, a vixen slayed a hen for a quick meal. Unbeknownst to her, the hen was a broody mother guarding her chicks. As the vixen munched and crunched her obtained prize after dragging its corpse out the hen house, she heard the faint *peep* *peep* coming from underneath the straw of the defenseless nest.
One of the chicks had emerged from the straw protecting it. It searched desperately for its mother, looking left, then right, but to no avail. Then, the newly hatched chick's beady, black eyes lined up with the bright, glowing, magenta eyes of the curious vixen. She stooped down and tilted her head in curiosity and surprise. Having never seen its mother, the naive little chick approached the fox and gave her a nuzzle on her snout with its warm, fuzzy body. The vixen broke down in tears trembling with remorse, pity, and sadness. She had to make things right. She climbed on top of the box where the nest sits and seated her bushy-tailed behind right over the nest warming the eggs. She would take the place of the hen and raise all the chicks into chickens. From that day forward, she swore to never eat chicken again. Fish was always her favorite anyways.
This Valentine's Day, let's celebrate the joy of motherhood. Here's to all those who aren't just dating for a quick hookup, but going for the full picture of marriage and family instead.
