I like frame two... Going up a steep hill you let off the gas and automatically lose speed! Going down, it is brakes and clutch. Gravity will gladly speed you up real fast! =^^=

It was dead, too expensive to repair, when I was up there in 2008. Beyond that, well Colorado is a LONG way from San Antonio Dont-ch-know.

The Broadmoor Resort and Hotel complex purchased many places in and around Pike's Peak, including the Cog Railroad in Manitou Springs. They upgraded the train cars. Of course, the Resort charges a premium price for the train ride.

A little local flavor:
Every year on Sept 11th, the local firefighters, EMTs, 1st responders, and others climb those nearly 3000 stairs to the top, wearing air packs and full turn-out gear, over 60lbs of equipment, in memory of the responders who climbed the stairs of the towers in NY. The event is open to all. Climbers pause for a moment of silence during the ascent at the times the planes struck the two buildings.
