The whole story is out now. Thank you so much if you've read the whole thing! This is a TF project I've been wanting to make since I started writing stories. If you're only starting here, no worries - the basic summary of the situation is below:
Silver-Furred Sled Dogs is a novel about rehabilitating a former human who got turned into a female dog against his will.
It follows an industrial revolution setting where other "animalfolk" (of which Levvy has now become) are captured and treated as pets. Levvy, right out of high school, was kidnapped by his ex-girlfriend as punishment for an affair, and kept in an abandoned factory. Transformed by her witch magic, he was subjected to all torture she deemed fit for his two-timing. His words of apology were reduced to barking... and soon, even those went silent as he sank into a shameful and sorrowful pit.
Now, 6 years later, he's freed from his prison, but not from his animal form. Nor is he freed from the years of physical, psychological, and sexual abuse.
He remembers only half of his identity and almost none of his independence. He still believes he is being punished for his cheating, and will forever be his ex-girlfriend's pet.
To make things worse, the person who comes to take care of him in this vulnerable state is the very girl he had an affair with. Which leads him to believe this is just another wicked test meant to tame him. A test to make sure he's a good dog. Another test rigged for him to fail.
She, however, is dedicated to making him feel like a person again, half-dog or not. Fueled by love, and a bit of guilt, she brings him to a secluded village where animalfolk can live free of prejudice. There, he starts unraveling the full reality of what's happened to him.
The three-part finale to this story takes place 5 months after Sila-Rose and Levvy have reached Fenris, when finally, in a fit of frustration, Sila-Rose decides to attempt turning her boyfriend back into a human. However, in the process, she finally realizes that she might be the one in need of a transformation. In a strange twist of fate, Levvy ends up being the one who comforts her.
