Áed Thoh, Last of ancient Wyveria, is an arkveld identified by his age and the distinctive runes carved into his scales. His attitude towards hunters seems to be passive in all regards, barely even reacting should one strike him. Instead, he has been seen spending most of his time wandering the various regions of the Forbidden Lands, or sleeping in areas rich with ancient Wyverian ruins. While he has been seen hunting on occasion, his targets often coincide with those marked by the Guild, though he seems to vehemently avoid contact with any individual touched by Wylk.
After the incident surrounding the Guardian Arkveld, notes have been made for his resemblance to the construct itself after hunters reported his assistance in the fight. Whether his intervention here was an exception or something else, it is unknown, but reports indicate a much greater level of aggression compared to his typically passive behavior. The nights following the incident have been plagued with mournful howls from Áed Thoh.
Much of what is known about Áed has been provided to the Guild through trade with the Wudwud, and documents recovered from ruins. Specific details are slim, but a name and owner (?) have been determined hence the naming throughout this report. Among these records however are fractured schematics matching the runes carved into his scales, though their function and purpose are yet to be fully determined. What is known is that the runes sustain Áed Thoh, keeping him alive well beyond the natural limits of his species, providing a slow, but effective revival, and a significant regeneration factor. Despite these benefits, his most identifying feature is a distinctive limp borne from a deep injury to his left side, hind leg, indicated by a scar of broken scales around the joint.
The Hunter's Guild has deemed Áed Thoh as a non-threat, though hunters are advised to defend themselves should he ever attack. Any attempts to hunt him however are to be met with punishment should the hunter responsible survives. The local village tend to avoid Áed Thoh, though the smiths of Azuz seem to have a friendly relationship with him. Many have been seen helping the arkveld shed scales, subsequently using those scales to forge equipment and other items around the village.
As a final note, many have likened Áed Thoh to an ancient version of Valief or Skaþa, the runes present on his scales baring similar, but more limited, affects to those two. In all three cases, the runes are from Wyverians, though the language seems to be different between Áed's and the barioths' runes. Further research and observation will be required for clarification here.
