[OC] Mherven the Prodesset Reference sheet (Feral)
Although not canon to Mherven's actual timeline, I just couldn't resist to give him a feral version as well as explore the species a little :D
In short: in Worlds of Shalbahar there are three main types of prodessets, two of which are considered extinct despite the rumors of sighting here and there.
Great Prodessets roamed the oceans of their world millions of years ago before the cataclysm scarred the planet and split two main oceans into dozens of smaller ones. These beasts are believed to be gargantuan in size, appearing as enormous eels with vast tentacly hoods.
With their habitat becoming significantly smaller and food sources rapidly dwindling - they had to adapt and downsize as well.
Common Prodessets are what came out of it. A creature vaguely resembling their ancestors, much more suited for shallow seas and terrestrial ventures.
Males of the species universally had glowing patterns on their skin in addition to their ability of camouflaging. It is believed that elaborate glowing patterns were used for luring prey and females out of hiding~
They would eventually downsize even further and would be known today as Lesser Prodessets - tiny bipedal creatures forming cozy fisher villages scattered all over the shorelines of tropical seas and big lakes.
Same as with smaller relatives - Common Prodessets are a closed species at this particular moment, but will be open for public once a species guide is made. Around the same time their overall lore and biology will also be greatly elaborated :D
