(all the naughty bits are covered, so this should be fine, right?)
"In the far reaches of Eruth, some tribes have been affected by an unknown form of magic. This unknown, magical energy fuses with stones and plants, which then radiate it and affect everything else around them. Animals become strange, more magical, while people... they become monsters."
Giants came to be when tribes of people began colonizing dense forests and mountains several thousand years ago. While most areas were safe, some had portals that opened to the Fae Realm. There, the locals were exposed to the Realm's unstable magic, which was further warped by minerals found only in those areas. As a result of this exposure, some of the people began to grow in size, become more feral, and develop a taste... for human flesh.
Giants can be between 5 and 7 meters tall. They are aggressive, ravenous, and brutal. While they do in fact hunt animals for sustenance, they will go after regular humans whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Through their magically induced transformation, they have become large and powerful, but their intelligence suffered as a result. Giants are brutish and feral, and will eat their prey raw, as they have lost the knowledge of how to use fire. They can use simple tools (typically clubs made of broken-off tree limbs), but not much else.
Their habits and culture (if they even have one) are unknown. Few who have attempted to observe and understand them have come back alive.
