The masked shadows are a thing I've done for a long time and were based on how I viewed astral beings and less comprehensible dream-like entities who wore their will and feelings like a mask upon their formless faces. There are recurring elements to some of them too, least of which their ever reaching arms upwardly and so forth to places unknown.
