My back story on the PS2 is very straightforward the main reason I got the PS2 is just that, a cheaper DVD player that can also play both CD music and PS1 and PS2 games, period. BTW the very first DVD movie I got was 2001 A Space Odyssey. Out side that it was my very first gaming console I ever pre-ordered it at EB Games and I been playing ton of demo games until Metal Gear Solid 2 came out many of the first run launch games I never bother of getting ANY of them until later years

I recent unpacked and set up my PS2. Had to buy a new (2nd hand) controller because the original had died.
I'd originally gotten mine because my first housemate had one, so I got some games to play on it but when he moved out, I had to get my own. found a dusty 2nd hand one and have had it ever since.
It wasn't my first console. that was an Atari 2600 back in the 80's. And yes, was given a copy of E.T. for it and it was truly, truly awful.
