I know he was just an insect, and I only had him for about a year and a half. He was still my first pet and I was sad to see him go.

He will always be remembered.
Right now he's probably up with 72 virgin exotic butterflies having the time of his life.

It's always hard losing a pet, whether canid, feline, reptile, amphibian...or insect, in this case.

Thank you :) It took a while to get over the surprise before the sad kicked in. I mean, I kind of thought of him as invincible, being a cockroach and all. But time gets us all in the end.

And if there are exotic butterfly virgins in heaven, I'm almost jealous...

Haha, roaches eat anything that isn't alive. I fed him cat food because they need protein, plus carrots and the occasional lucky charm :)

He was a Madagascar hissing cockroach, which aren't native to America. My college sells lab-bred ones every year.

LOL, actually, my mom loved V. She was there when I bought him, and I called her first when I found him tonight. I think she's accepted I'll never have kids and thought of him as a grandchild ^^;

I was just telling a fur from Ohio about V on our trip to Colorado. I'm sorry to here time assassinated him. Remember always that so long as someone remembers you, you never truly die. Follow in V's foot skitters and try to be remembered fondly by all.
