Diddy Kong is a spider monkey who is Donkey Kong's best buddy and one of the core members of the New Rareware Gang. He is known by many of his fans for being a star of Diddy's Kong Quest as well as the title character of Diddy Kong Racing. Diddy not only likes racing, but he also likes playing video games and rapping. During the events of DKR, he befriended the racers, particularly Banjo and Krunch. His parents were killed in a forest fire when he was very young, so he's been living with DK ever since.

Dixie Kong is a barbary macaque - a monkey without a tail - who is Diddy's girlfriend, one of the core members of the New Rareware Gang, and Tiny Kong's sister. She first met Diddy when he was setting out to rescue Donkey Kong from the late Kaptain K. Rool, and she volunteered to help him, much to his reluctant agreement, yet they did end up getting along. Like Diddy, Dixie likes music, she prefers the same genre as Krunch, which is rock music.

Fritz is a common bottlenose dolphin who is the second child of the dolphin king and dolphin queen, the prince of the Dolphin Kingdom, one of the core members of the New Rareware Gang, Princess Marina's best friend, and Winnie's boyfriend. He was born with dwarfism, which explains why he still looks like a dolphin calf despite being a teenager. He is around the same age as Marina. Fritz really likes Rod Stewart's music, and he is also said to be a really good keen eye whenever Marina needs a thrifting buddy.
