The well known Civil Rights Activist, Jessie Jackson passed away from a long illness. Jessie was best known for his actions for human rights and was a protegee of Dr Martin Luther King, and was present when King was assassinated in 1968. Jessie ran for president in 1984 and 1988, just losing to Michael Dukakis in 88.

I'll give Jessie huge credit for getting Lt Robert Goodman out of Syria in 1983 after his A-6 Intruder was shot down while bombing targets in Syria during the Lebanese crisis. Even President Reagan welcomed Both Jackson and Goodman to the White House.
