• Biography: Sonico is one of the many ½ Mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena. She was born a day after Valentina was born, making her part of the 3rd line of ½ Mermaids born to the family. Sonico grew up with the dream of being a help to others, namely among heroic lines. She noticed that her older sister Ariel had taken up engineering with plasma technology, so Sonico opted to do something similar, although she chose the route of ice instead. As a result, Sonico handled anything considered cold, though her fast learning skills enabled her to get the hang of gadgets meant for ice relatively easily and in no time, she experimented with her fast-developing expertise by constructing an ice cream machine for her younger siblings, which proved to be a smash hit with them. Sonico soon moved onto tinkering with ice beam technology and developed herself an array of weapons using the power of ice. Incidentally, Sonico’s works made her fit for the Metroid universe, which she had actually been aiming for and as a result, she has been helping to bring peace to the Metroid universe and protecting her home world of Olympus when needed. As is to be expected from those in Juni’s family, Sonico is a very friendly girl, inheriting only the best traits from her parents. Sonico is easily one of the sweetest members of the clan, which makes her insanely popular with her kid siblings. In fact, her sharing her ice cream machine is what contributes to her popularity. However, in certain situations, she has been known to get flustered rather easily. Sonico loves ice cream and is incredibly proud of the machine she developed to make the delicious treat. However, she doesn’t enjoy intense heat. Like a handful of her sisters, Sonico is a proven absolute mudlark, and she will not hesitate to throw herself into a quicksand pit the moment she spots one. She also gets excited when signs of quicksand are discovered in the area she is exploring. The fastest speed skater in the family.
• Abilities: Being ½ Mermaid, Sonico is capable of transforming into her mermaid form the moment she enters the water. As a mermaid, like all her other 1/2 mermaid siblings, she has excellent swimming speed, can breathe underwater without the need to surface for air; though she & her other sisters form gills to help with this, too, and she can commune with aquatic creatures of any kind. However, she primarily transforms while in either fresh or seawater. And like her mother & siblings, Sonico strongly prefers the water to be clean before she thinks about transforming. Sonico joins the party as an Ice Engineer. Simply put, this makes her a mechanic that specializes in devices that deal with ice. Many of her weapons utilize the Ice Beam in some way, along with Ice Missile & Ice Bombs. Sonico prefers staying at a distance to battle as a result, but she does have a beam saber handy for close range combat. Sonico is able to make use of technology that’s been exposed to ice and can get devices deeply frozen up & running again without incident (Though she has consistently stated that it is not easy, even for someone of her expertise). In addition, like Ariel, Sonico has also constructed her own mecha. She starts with the following gear & weapons.
o Engineer Suit: Sonico’s power suit. It looks really cute and gives her a figure skater feel when active. The suit provides the warmth Sonico needs from icy temperatures when dealing with icy machines. It comes equipped with a pair of goggles that become active when working on something.
o Arm Cannon: Like a good number of her sisters who wear power suits, Sonico’s suit is equipped with an arm cannon on her right arm that can morph for battle. It is equipped with the typical Power, Ice, Wave, and Plasma Beams in addition to the Charge Beam & Missile Launcher. It comes armed with 250 missiles loaded. Sonico has the Seeker Launcher installed, along with 50 Super Missiles.
o Ice Gun: A handgun that is outfitted with the Ice Beam. Sonico uses a model Colt M1911A1 as her primary gun. It’s strong in its own right, but Sonico also uses a Smith & Wesson M1917 Revolver, and a Walther P99 as additional options. All retain bullet usage.
o Ice Rifle: A rifle outfitted with Ice Beam technology. Sonico is often seen using a Remington 7600, but she also uses a Winchester 1890 in addition. They retain the usage of bullets.
o Ice Shotgun: The most powerful gun Sonico has. Her primary shotgun is a Winchester Defender 1300, though she also uses a Benelli Supernova. Both retain the ability to fire off shotshells.
o Ice Bazooka: This rocket launcher was modified to fire guided missiles in addition to rockets. It primarily fires Ice Missiles, hence its name. She primarily uses an MK-153, and an M136 AT4. She had an M202A1 Flash at one point, but it was damaged from trying to fire frigid ice missiles. She gave it to her sister Nireta who fixed it up and began using it herself.
o Ice Grenade Launcher: A Grenade Launcher outfitted to shoot Ice Grenades in addition to normal grenades. She primarily uses a China Lake Pump-Action Launcher but also owns a single shot M79 as well.
o Ice Saber: A beam saber imbued with Ice Beam technology. This causes painful frostbite to those slashed by it. When charged up, it unleashes a sword beam capable of freezing targets to absolute zero.
o Blizzard Genie: Sonico’s personal mecha made in the image of Shantae the ½ Genie Hero. This mecha is made to provide heavy ice damage to a large group of enemies and can easily freeze lava in large areas. In addition, the mecha can transform into different shapes, like an elephant or a tiger.
o Space Jump: This allows Sonico to perform multiple spin jumps without stopping. Typically used if there is not enough room for her jet pack to be used.
o Screw Attack: This turns Sonico into a wrecking ball of energy while spin jumping, destroying most enemies in one hit, and severely injuring others.
o Grapple Module: A module designed to hold grapple upgrades. The Grapple Swing & Grapple Lasso are present.
o Varia Shield: Prevents damage from acid & extreme heat.
o Hazard Shield: Prevents damage from additional environmental hazards like fuel gel & lava.
