While on her smoke break, a black bear bouncer encounters a weasel reporter. Will Bramble help him get the scoop on a story, or become part of the news herself?
Recently been reading some stories involving superheroes from Silver Coast Comics, and that set my imagination simmering on the idea of a character ignoring the "call of adventure". Like having potential powers, but not wanting to embrace them. Which led me to brushing off the dust of my black bear character, Bramble. I'd never figured out a good place for her, and felt like a fun angle to have her explore Sterling City.
As you may notice, she doesn't embrace her powers in this story. However she does in story: Cool Dragon Powers (to be posted soon). And some further tales hope to share along soon as this year progresses. If curious what those powers may lead to...this might give something of a preview.

Just want to say after listening to several stories about reluctant protagonists, this was refreshing to read. So many times it feels like the protagonist is just refusing to go forward with the plot and it feels like the plot has to kick down their door and drag them out kicking and screaming.
I really liked Bramble as a character. They don't want the power but at the same time show their potential in whatever path they choose to be. Inexperienced in some aspects but also able to think on the fly at the heat of the moment. I would love to see more of her story if you do continue it. Consider me a fan.
