After over a week of harder-than-expected work, I'm happy to present Bol - the eponymous character of my Bolycule series - in the flesh! It was actually so important to me to accurately depict their key attributes: they had to be fluffy, pink, and cute. Hopefully I managed to capture all three!
Also, that's an interesting set of flags, isn't it? I think this is a good time to formally establish some lore I've hinted at but somehow never mentioned on the page: Bol is on estrogen. They wanted a body slightly on the femme side of androgyny, and so they got one. They still ID predominantly as nonbinary (rather than transfem), but they'll sometimes drift into moods where they appreciate terms like "girl" or "hen".
Generally though, they prefer gender neutral forms of address... with "pet" being their favorite!

aaaaaaa you've done such a fantastic job detailing out Bol! Fluffy, pink, and cute indeed. I can just imagine them curled up by my side or on my lap for scritches like the adorable little pet they are. I'm afraid I'd muss up their feathers something fierce, though, without any preening expertise.

Ooh, does this mean you're eventually going to do other characters? I'd really be down for some visual aid on Cameron in particular, because in my experience looking up a picture of an actual sturgeon for his face has not helped.
I'd love to have designs for everyone! It'll be a gradual process though. This piece took me a while, and bumped against the limits of my skill. That won't be any less true for future ones.
And you're right, Cameron is a particularly challenging target to anthropomorphize. We'll see when we get there!

Oh my goodness gracious Bol is so CUUUUUTE!!
Ever since I saw a visual of Tiko I just got a bit more eager to see more of the cast. And seeing Bol here fully rather than just the head for the thumbnail pics of the boycule series gets me only more eager to see the other members of the cast.
...tbh, I really just wanna know where Hugo and Aluin's visual descriptions are past the species name. It's a struggle for me to read some of the stories because I don't got a visual or idea of what those two look like.
(since those two seem to be getting a lotta inanimate paw acrion~)
