Originally written and posted on my podcast, the story is about an ancient Dragon (of a definitely coincidentally similar description to myself) who has lived for thousands of years and lives peacefully next to a nearby village... lovles<3
"In a cabin not far from town, lives my furry dragon friend. Purple fur, stripes of green, glowing eyes, featherd wings, pointy teeth, and razor sharp claws has my furry dragon friend.
No one knows where he came from, though many choose not to care. He comes to town when he needs to most, hiding in shadows as if a ghost. His wings are tattered, full of holes, he no longer can fly.
Streaks of silver fill his fur, he shines in the moonlight. He rarely talks, but always listens, softy speaking wisdom from time to time. When he finds something he needs, he pays in gold, and insists they keep the change.
On quiet nights if you closely listen, you can hear his tired chirping from town. My furry dragon friend has seen everything there was to see, a time before my own he does belong.
If you go to see him, he will let you in, but he will ask you nicely not to touch his belongings. The walls of his home are decorated with colorful artworks of the nearby sea and photos of people I've never seen before.
Thousands of years he says he's lived, and he may still have a couple hundred more. He's laughed and loved, lost and cried, but he knows it's the burden he must carry.
For all my life he's been here, my furry dragon friend, but one day long into my life he told me it was time to say goodbye, where one journey ends, another begins and you'll have to learn to live without me.
He hugged me tightly, said he loved me, and his cabin was gone the next day.
For a long time I asked myself why he had to leave me, blaming myself for things I can't control. For years and years I looked out to the field hoping the cabin would one day return...
I grew angry, thinking that he did this knowing it would make me eternally upset... but then I figured it out.
I might miss him for the rest of my life, but he will miss me more, he left while we could have a happy ending... he did not want to see me die."
