KATE EXCALI - CHARACTER INTRODUCTION
The land of Astoria is one based around myths and legends of all kinds. One of it's inhabitants is a humble mechanic named Kate Excali. Most of the locals know her for being the honest yet awkward mechanic who mostly keeps to herself. Little do they know that their reclusive neighbor is secretly one of Astoria's greatest protectors - The Silver Sentinel!

The Silver Sentinel is fashioned after heroes from all across Astoria's history. From the knights in shining armor of old to the caped supers of the modern day, Kate has taken notes from just about everyone in her fight against the forces of evil. While she lacks powers of her own, she makes up for that with a suit of armor and arsenal that combines the best of both magic and technology. Contrasting the mild-mannered Kate, The Silver Sentinel is a bold and daring hero who is always ready to dive into battle! How much of this is actually Kate and how much of this is the tigress putting on a brave face is up in the air.

All of it is powered by an enchanted gemstone built into a silver watch Kate wears as a civilian. Tapping the crown of the watch engulfs her in a bright flash of light, changing her into The Sentinel Armor in the blink of an eye! Not only can The Silver Sentinel summon her armor at will, but the same goes for her weapons. Swords, shields, guns, lasers, you name it. If she has it in her arsenal, she can wave her hand to summon or dismiss it in the blink of an eye. Add in her wrist-mounted grappling hook as well as a few other gadgets, and Kate can adapt her fighting style on-the-fly.

The magic gemstone that powers the armor also comes with a special enchantment that lets Kate control how lethal her weapons are. Most of the time, her attacks are surrounded by crackling green energy. This means that, while they will hurt, Kate won't actually kill her foes. They might get stunned, burned, bruised, and battered, but the enchantment will always prevent it from dealing a final blow. However, Kate can command the gem to make her weapons lethal, which will result in said energy changing to red as a final warning to her foes. Of course, she can also just choose to forgo the enchantment altogether if needed.
