I thought it was, like inserted in her neck, or was some kind of weird collar or a scar and then the diamond/ruby inserted there and leave to heal around it (idk why i thought this idea,lol).
Idk it don't looks like a beard,for me.
That got me surprised.

No pupils or its closing the eyes?
More i stare at this picture,more i overthink it.
