Like I've been saying, to a true gentleman a tailor isn't just someone who makes sure the waistcoat fits over your paunch, he's also someone to confide in. Then again, a true gentleman also bothers to get your name straight, but give Emmet a break. He's digging his way out of a big manners hole. He'll work on the finer points as he gets to them.
