My beloved students:
Before long I must depart from you. It is the way of all living things to die, and I am no different from any other.
You have heard me say that there is no life without biology. Today I turn this into a commandment for you and your descendants. The flesh is infinitely malleable, but it must remain flesh. The machine may enhance, but it must never replace.
I forbid you always from housing a mammalian mind inside a machine.
I forbid you always from disguising a machine as a mammal.
Never may a machine govern a mammal.
These things I say to you with the utmost gravity. Our enemies were once numerous and vicious. I do not pass judgement on you for what you have done to preserve your lives, nor do you judge me for how I have protected you. But we must learn from our errors.
Behold, I have set up for you the Creche of Time to serve as a font of power and protection. Call upon it with humility, and heed the warnings of its Keepers. I have taught them things that you do not know.
I have also built for you the White Gate, as an aperture through which your children may one day emerge from the final darkness. Remember what waits for you on the other side.
You are all my students, and in your efforts I am most pleased. Work ever more diligently.
