This is why here in Canada on November 11th we have two sayings; "Lest we Forget" and "Never Again." War is not glorified here, it is mourned. History is a cautionary tale. Lest we forget why they fought and died...lest we fail to appreciate what the protected for us...lest we throw it all away and repeat the same mistakes.

I'm in the United States so It's quite refreshing to see people from other places comment on my works! I mainly wrote this for my father who was in the Air Force years ago, he sadly passed away but I'm still not over it for some reason. I have high respect for those who've served and fought for freedom and other people's rights. I hope that one day I may be able to repay them for their service to the country. 🩷

My grandfather fought the fascists all the way up the boot of Italy in WWII and I'm glad he's not around to see just how it's all backsliding toward the same crap (though he always did talk about the "pendulum of politics," and that he was expecting one day things would boil over again for one reason or another because it always does throughout human history, and he as right.)
