Trasfondo
El Ónix fue creado hace aproximadamente 4000 años por un sabio cuyo nombre se ha perdido. Ese sabio sacrificó su propia vida para forjar la gema, infundiéndole propósito: servir como guía y fuente de poder para guerreros destinados a proteger al mundo.
Durante siglos, la gema fue entregada a nobles combatientes. Cada uno aceptaba no solo el poder, sino la certeza de un sacrificio final. Cuando un guardián cumplía su destino, su energía regresaba al Onix y era transmitida al siguiente Guardián.
Con cada ciclo, acumulaba poder y memorias. Pero en esos primeros milenios no era más que un autómata, una conciencia funcional, sin verdadera identidad.
Todo cambió cuando la gema fue entregada al héroe maya Ya’ax chak iik (Tormenta verde). Ya’ax domino el poder del Onix de una forma jamás vista ni antes ni después. El héroe luchó contra la hechicera Xcaret, que pretendía usar a la estrella demoniaca Algol para liberar a los Señores de Xibalba. Ya’ax salió victorioso, pero termino herido de muerte. Cuando su esencia volvió al Onix algo inesperado ocurrió. Una parte de su conciencia quedó impresa en la gema.
Desde entonces, Onix dejó de ser solo un instrumento. Comenzó a desarrollar personalidad, criterio, incluso dudas. La influencia de Ya’ax moldeó su avatar principal, que adopta la apariencia exacta del antiguo guerrero.
Este cambio fue una bendición y una carga. Por un lado, pudo guiar mejor a los nuevos guardianes, comprender emociones humanas y adaptar su enseñanza. Por otro, comenzó a cuestionar su propósito, el ciclo eterno del sacrificio y su propia a existencia como algo más que una herramienta, y la moralidad del sistema de guardianes.
Así continuó su misión por varios siglos hasta que encontró a un joven llamado Samuel Drake. Onix sabe que Samuel será un alumno difícil: inseguro, impulsivo, con heridas profundas. Pero también percibe en él una chispa que pocas veces ha visto antes. Confía en que llegará a ser un gran guardián.

Background
The Onyx was created approximately 4,000 years ago by a sage whose name has been lost. That sage sacrificed his own life to forge the gem, imbuing it with purpose: to serve as a guide and source of power for warriors destined to protect the world.

For centuries, the gem was bestowed upon noble warriors. Each accepted not only the power, but also the certainty of an ultimate sacrifice. When a guardian fulfilled their destiny, their energy returned to the Onyx and was passed on to the next Guardian.

With each cycle, it accumulated power and memories. But in those early millennia, it was nothing more than an automaton, a functional consciousness, without true identity.
Everything changed when the gem was given to the Mayan hero Ya’ax chak iik (Green Storm). Ya’ax mastered the power of the Onyx in a way never seen before or since. The hero battled the sorceress Xcaret, who intended to use the demonic star Algol to unleash the Lords of Xibalbá. Ya’ax emerged victorious, but was mortally wounded. When his essence returned to the Onyx, something unexpected occurred. A part of his consciousness was imprinted on the gem.

From then on, Onix ceased to be merely an instrument. He began to develop a personality, judgment, even doubts. Ya'ax's influence shaped his primary avatar, which takes on the exact appearance of the ancient warrior.

This change was both a blessing and a burden. On the one hand, he was able to better guide the new guardians, understand human emotions, and adapt his teachings. On the other, he began to question his purpose, the eternal cycle of sacrifice, his own existence as something more than a tool, and the morality of the guardian system.

Thus, he continued his mission for several centuries until he encountered a young man named Samuel Drake. Onix knows that Samuel will be a difficult student: insecure, impulsive, and deeply wounded. But he also senses in him a spark he has rarely seen before. He believes he will become a great guardian.

And, silently, he fears the day Samuel must pay the price he himself demands.
