Yes, I play Minecraft. It's ok if you think it's a stupid, pointless game. But I still enjoy it, even if you think I'm a huge nerd for doing so. If you plan on trolling me about it in the comments, well, have fun wasting your time. ^_^ lol
Anyway, one of the first things I did when I got the game was make a custom skin because I hated the default one. This is actually skin version 2 (I don't have a screenshot of the 1st one though). The only edit i need to do is to make her hair scales longer, but other than that I'm happy with it. Yay!

First, you use this template: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/F.....:Skinzones.png The final file will only be 64x32 pixels, but this is a good reference for what parts go where. I used photoshop to draw mine, starting on a transparent base and working from there. There's programs you can download that are just skin editors, but I find just using photoshop easier for me, but they're nice alternatives if you don't have PS. When you're done, you save it as a PNG, then upload it at the mine craft preferences page: http://www.minecraft.net/skin/ Skins you download from the internet can also be uploaded to the same place.
If anyone tells you minecraft is anything but awesome, they clearly lack an imagination and any sort of creativity.
Oh, and Painterly isn't the only customizable texture pack. They all are so long as you have MSPaint and know to edit the terrain.png with whatever you want. I made my own mixed up texture pack out of parts from a bunch of others doing this.
Also if you're ever into playing multiplayer, one of my housemates runs an all furry server you'd be more than welcome to join.

I've played on a couple multiplayer servers, but there were just too many people and I felt lost as far as where it was OK to build, what land had been taken, etc. A lot of stuff seemed abandoned, so even in areas that were built up I almost never saw anyone. I'd be interested in trying a smaller server that was more interested in building a couple unified projects as opposed to everyone doing their own thing. ^_^
Well most people go off and do their own thing on ours but that's just because of their own choice. We'd like to try doing projects together though, i know our admin would frickin absolutely love that, he's always trying to get that sort of thing together. It is a small-ish server too, we've got a decent number of dedicated players who are on fairly frequently.
If you'd like to join i'd be happy to note you the IP and accompanying website.

Mmm oh yes, such a wonderful game for the creative types. Right now I've been working on a massive project to make a multiplayer server. So far it features 1 almost finished massive dungeon, a second half finished massive dungeon, a third barely started massive dungeon, a city at spawn that's safe from mobs spawning and is surrounded by thick but ascetically pleasing sandstone walls, a cathedral in town that actually has the entrance to one of the dungeons hidden in it. I'm proud of what I've done to make it a world worth exploring.
