To stick with my 'egyptian' theme I seem to have going on with my scorpions..
Meet the two newest members. A birthday gift to myself from my mom (she had originally just given me money...but at the time I kept spending it on food..so I sucked it up and decided to stop by the pet store. Could have gotten a guinea pig, or a tarantula..but I decided to get these gals)..
The one on the left in the box will be Nefertiti - I managed to hold her once at the pet store and she seemed content to just explore. Though she was VERY stubborn when it came to going in the box...and then coming out it was like "NONONO! You forced me in here now I'm staying put!" As you can see here..she was literally holding onto the box.
On the right we have Isis. I didn't get a chance to hold her - only because the pet store was getting ready to close and the other two in the cage were being difficult. The guy managed to pull her out but she did NOT like it.
I am quite positive it is a female...and I have a sneaky suspicion her grouchy/aggressive behavior and now her restless in her cage (she is all over the place), on top of her being so freaking pudgey (look at the white!)..she may be pregnant.
I'm going to give these guys a few days to calm down and see what happens. Just in case Isis IS preggo, I won't bother her much. Isis I don't mind handling but I'll still give her a few days.
And I found something rather interesting...apparently Emperor Scorpions have a gestation of 7-9 months, SOMETIMES even a full year! And it takes 3-4 years for them to reach sexual maturity..though its not uncommon for them to reach that at 12-14 months. Which I find is weird since apparently they live 7-8 years in captivity. I think the guy from the reptile show said my flat rock could live up to 15.
Either way..I apparently have found a new addicton besides snakes..I'm loving these arachnids! I think this is it for a while though. I've got baby snakes that seem to be ready to hatch soon now - since their eggs are changing texture and are becoming slightly soft on certain parts.
Anyways, image will be moved to scraps soon. Or completely removed. Still haven't thought of names for the two babies yet - then again I may need gender neutral names.
ALSO. ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THESE GUYS BEING DISGUSTING WILL BE HIDDEN AND YOU WILL BE BLOCKED. I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANYTHING THAT IS OFFENSIVE TO ME OR THESE GUYS. ESPECIALLY IF YOU TELL ME TO KILL IT!

Afraid not. Haven't been advertising lately only because of school and stuff. But...priority is I really need a job that is steady..not these random commissions I get. xD
As for my girl..I'm not sure how SHE would behave. She tends to be attracted to anything that moves and will bite..even though she's fed alot.
