This takes place in the spawn story, a sequel to Rekindled following Cass’ journey through life, stranded in Australia and raising kids as a single parent with a lot of trauma based on how he got them. In this, Cass had just escaped the abusive other half and is lying low in a hotel outside of Winton Australia. He had almost no money and is making do. He was graciously allowed to get some extra pillows and sheets for his kids, and made some makeshift cribs with the drawers from the end table near by. He also wrapped up his youngest, the twins Jericho and Miquella, in the hotel’s hand towels. This is the first time he’s been actually safe in a long time, but the memories aren’t making him feel it, really.
