There is a new craze for self cover buttons recently. so I just hopped on the bandwagon and gave it a shot. These badges are made by sewing a cross stitch picture on 18 count aida and wrapping them around the buttons then finally adding a safety pin to turn it into a badge.
None of these designs are original and do not belong to me. I found them by looking up pixel art on an image search and transferring each picture to stitches.

I may consider doing a few more buttons. I have some spare backs for them. Unfortunately all I have to turn them into pin badges is some safety pins. (which didn't stay on my coat too well) but if someone has a better idea I'm quite open to suggestions. Or I can just do a few buttons and see what you can do with them. AT the back of the buttons is a nub with a hole in so it is pretty easy to sew them on to things just like a regular button.
Im going to have another go at these when I get a moment. I have an idea on how to make them into brooches which work a little better. But I'll see how that turns out first. :D
