Heyoo - today it seems like I found a new job. After 5 month of searching and working on it I got informed today
that I can work in a medium sized company for a salary wich is ok ... and so far I have agreed to it.
Tomorrow I will finish up the contract, been save for the moment and start next monday. At the end everything happend really quick.
So why am we here? I have some thoughts in my mind wich need to be silenced so I need to share it with someone so brain is silent again:
I know I should be more happy about having a job again (wich I really wanted) but it also feels like a big step back.
I will work now as media designer in a printshop ... the team seems to be nice and everything seems to be well organized.
The thing is that creativity in that job isn´t much a thing. I still miss my old one as a designer for card and boardgames. Peak design work right!
It was almost perfect if I don´t think about the management XD The new job is a downgrade in almost all points, but also not bad, just completely different ...
I know I overthink the situation way too much and not having the perfect job is a tiny problem in comparison to so many other people who have the same reality or
have to struggle for real. I will just need to start to see how it´s going - but I also fear a boring 9 to 5 "treadmill-situation".
At least it´s a occupation I can put in my portfolio, even when I will not have a lot nice to show XD
Ah - after typing it down I feel better immediately. Feels like brain got what brain wanted! My plan is to stay in the company for at least 1 to 2 years if I can.
I will observe the design and art market, building up my own mini business and been thankful to be able to make art and designs in my freetime.
Having less time also means, I will restructure my day to keep up my work on ongoing commissions ... I will try to post regulary but don´t wonder if
it is just one time a week.
If you have read up to here, thank you very much! Nice to be here and next post will be something more positive :3

It’s understandable to be worried about a new job ecspecially if you loved your old one. while I can’t say with guarantee your new job will be perfect atleast you can relax a bit now that you have a job, so do your best to make the most of it!
And while you might not have as much free time to create your amazing art and stories as you once did I’m sure once you get used to the new routine you’ll be able to continue creating your absolutely amazing work!
Just do your best mate we’re all rooting for ya!

Hey man, first of all, congratulations on the new job!
I know you said it can feel like a step back, but genuinely, worst case scenario, it really isn't. If anything, it's a step to the side. And you can continue walking forward at any point, whether you keep this job for a month or for years.
Your skill and art are incredible, and it'll always bag you opportunities down the line. Don't let this make you feel like any of that has changed. :)

Yeah - a good hint to take it day by day! I always make problems bigger as they are and think about every scenario. I think the best way is to just start and solve one problem after another. Thanks a lot for your comment and support - knowing to have the community here gives me a lot of strength!
It's kinda funny I am almost in the same boat as you! My present job will stop to exist coming autumn, so I have to start looking for a new job as well in the next 6 months. I was going to look for something similair as you. I went to school for 4 years (2013-2017) to learn everything about media design, printing, stickering, car wrapping, etc... I gained a lot of experience, but after 2017 when I got my degree (Ended up in the top 3 best end assignments), I never did anything with it as I was highly insecure about what to do with it...
But right now I am thinking of going back to this type of work to see if there are interesting jobs to find in this branche. I don't even mind if it's only part-time for the first couple of months. I can always work my way up to full time and get a pay raise in the process!
So I wouldn't worry too much about your salary in the beginning. If your boss sees your potential, you can always work your way up and maybe get a raise along the way!

Oh man - time isn´t easy for a lot of us it seems. You, I and several of my friends working in the design and art market are struggeling with there job or lost them. I talked to some people wich are in the bussiness for a long time and also they say it´s a hard time to be a creative worker. The global situation and changing markets are a big misery for us. I wish you just the best to find something wich is a really nice job for you. Build up a nice portfolio and shoot at any job you can find XD
In my case I was making a portfolio over a month with my best projects from my bachelor and the two jobs I made so far. Nice cover, nice photo with a light but informative text about me and my doing ... As long you are in a job, it´s more relaxing to search for a new one. I was pretty wondering how less feedback I have gotten from all my applications. Winter is a bad time for looking for a job oO But never loose hope! Even when nice jobs seem to be rare, they are out there! Ask everyone - often someone knows someone with a interesting contact!
Thanks a lot for you nice words :3 They helping me a lot to calm down my brain - at least it´s just a new job. Here are two quotes from my father and a influencer wich helped me a lot:
"Hundreds before you, thousands with you and millions after you deal with that problem and will succeed - so you will to." "It´s just so long shitty until it´s over."
I found my job at least on stepstone. They had a large range of jobs and also have the function to mail you possible jobs via mail every day :3 Hope that helps and I can see much more of your adorable oversized girls soon ;9
