A lyric art featuring a major inspirational song for my current WIP fantasy novel, DeerWizardWIP.
The song Soulless Creatures has been such a huge inspiration for Edwin's journey, and DeerWizardWIP as a whole. The story of his resolve, compassion, anger, hatred, and his grief. Of him giving so much of himself to protect the world he loves, and the world telling him to let go.
As for the art itself, it took me quite a bit of work. One failed attempt, a lot of practice drawing antlers at different angles, experimenting with markers. I've been struggling a lot with art lately. I had to muster a lot of courage to experiment with a new medium. Since I don't have as much time for art as I used to, it can be difficult to invest that little time into exploring new things, knowing I'll be bad at the start.
But I'm glad I did this. I'm happy to have a drawing in a new medium. I still have a lot of practice to do, but markers seem less scary and daunting now.
