For many days and many nights, one brave jackal ventured through the desert, enduring the scorching heat, sandstorms, bitter nights, and unwanted encounters of dangerous kinds. His destination: the ancient pyramids of a civilization long since past. Egypt you say? No - this is beyond the time of the human race.
Upon arrival, the jackal undoes his scroll, to decode the ancient hieroglyphs at the feet of the mysterious jackal queen statue. As he continues deciphering them, the unexpected begins. First it was merely the statue's eyes glowing, which then escalated to the entire piece shining brilliantly - so much that he couldn't bear to look at it any longer. Nevertheless the glimmering lights grew more and more intense. And just as suddenly as those lights began to fill his field of vision, they dimmed out.
No longer was he standing outside the pyramids. He was inside an ancient throne room, and not alone either - far from it. Staring down at him, while holding him in a giant pair of palms, was a mysterious jackal lady, smiling and blushing. "At long last," she began. "The guiding hand of fate has brought you back to me." This was all too much for the tiny jackal. He couldn't speak. Indeed, he couldn't even move from his spot in the hands of the giantess. He was petrified.
Some moments later, however, Silas Archer finally broke from his trance. Yet, everything around him changed. Gone was the mysterious throne room. Gone was the mysterious jackal woman. He was in his own room!
He planted his hand against his pounding heart, breathing heavily. "Ugh - same dream. Every . . . single . . . night, for the past few weeks!" he said aloud. "Who was that Faunite? Why am I seeing her in my dreams!?"
True it was concerning, to revisit a dream like that over and over, but he couldn't spend the remainder of the night pondering over it. And with that, he rolled back over, and went to sleep. Yet, he was completely unaware of the unnatural, lurking in his very room.
It was through his bedroom mirror where the mysterious woman in his dreams was eyeing him. She leaned against the glass, hoping it would give way, or permit her to pass on through. Despite the glass not permitting her through, or giving way from the pushing, she remained there, keeping her gazed fixed on the sleeping jackal. "You'll be seeing me in more than just your dreams - very, very soon" she thought to herself...
