On the border of the three lands, where the paths of the living, the dead and those who have never been alive converge, there is a stone circle — three pillars topped with the skulls of wolves. It used to be ruined, overgrown with moss and ivy. But today the stones are glowing from the inside, and a mist is swirling between the pillars, shimmering with silver and copper.
The air is shaking, and you can hear voices — not one, but many: laughter, crying, whispering, songs in forgotten languages. The gate opened. Not to one world, but to all worlds at once. And silhouettes begin to appear out of the fog: shadows in cloaks, animals with human eyes, figures made of stars and smoke.
Unintelligible speech begins to form into words in a language you know. "The wheel has turned, it's time to start a new cycle." One of the silhouettes freezes, turns in your direction, and you feel someone else's eyes on you.
