Sorry about the quality, I just snapped a quick photo of one of my sketchbook pages.
On this page is an old sheep skull, a deer phalange, and a deer vertebra. You can really tell that I'm still working on the phalange and the vertebra is just barely penciled in.

Talent has nothing to do with it. ANYONE can draw like this with the right practice and perseverance. It's all about learning how to observe things. Your hand can make all the millions of little movements necessary to lay a pencil on paper, but it's your skill of perception that makes a person a good artist. And you have to practice and train yourself to see correctly and draw what you see. Too many people draw what they know instead of what they see, and that leads to errors and practicing bad drawing habits. Working from life observation is the foundation of any art profession.
Very, very true. 'Tis part of why I'm taking Life Drawing class at my college. It's more effective than books because poses change and it really gets you to focus on the curves and such. Plus we're allowed to move around the studio as we draw to get different angles and lighting.
I love the class, this is actually my second time doing it. I learned not just the human figure, but how to use different mediums. We use conte crayons on newsprint paper, and later we used pastels (I had some probs with those, hoping I do better this semester). I love waking up in the morning and going to school for three hours to just relax, listen to calm music, and just draw.
I love drawing the human body. One fo our models, Sarah, is the perfect model. She's not overweight but not really skinny. She has very soft curves and a very nice skin tone, and she does really unique poses.
