Wonderful story weaving Phrannd. I was hooked in with the flashback. layers upon layers good reading and the story gains depth as it goes. the real reactions of the characters to the battle and blood gave it nice grit and reality. Can't wait for more. I also feel like the mayor is a puppet and wonder who is pulling his strings lolo.
Interesting. This possibly being part of the opening stages of something bigger would explain some things. I'm very curious what the next developments will be.
Thinking about it, the town's situation reminds me a little of "Assault on Precinct 13" as far as the developing isolation and unknown and sneaky enemy goes.
