This piece is a large part of my personal furry history, and it is a drawing that I lost for several years and thought was lost forever before finding it again! Back in 2018, when I was still closeted to my friends (but not my family), I wanted to commission art after getting jealous of seeing so many other art pieces online. I had been a furry for a year at this point, and I still wasn't old enough to own a credit card, and I still even didn't even know where furries would commission art x) so I found an artist on Fiverr, asked my mom for her credit to pay an artist $5 for a flat color commission of a dingo wearing a spacesuit and looking up as if he were looking at the stars. Why a dingo, and why a spacesuit??? I can only throw guesses... I thought dingos were cool (and still do), and I probably just wanted clothing that would've looked good with gray as my one flat color.
Anyways, this piece, whether I knew it at the time or not, solidified my place in the community - I was now an active participant, even if I never showed anybody the art. I kept it on my hard drive, looking at it occasionally, but never really considered it my fursona, just a piece of personal artwork. I eventually got a new PC in 2021 and along with it a new hard drive, and this piece was stuck on it because I never uploaded it anywhere... Soon I lost that hard drive, and when I became much more active in the community in 2023 and made Ply, my first actual fursona, I started thinking about this piece and wondering if I could ever retrieve it again.
In 2025, the hard drive resurfaced!! It was in my dad's pile of random electronic junk in a cabinet he hardly touched. I pulled up all my old files, and alongside the cringey media I thought was funny in 2018 laid this piece. I couldn't believe it. I was so thrilled lol. This guy still does not have a name - and he might rename nameless, just like the million of stars he loves to observe each night. (Coincidentally, Ply is a big stargazer too!)
Now, I am properly sharing this art, and I treasure it just as much as any of the other art I have since commissioned :}
