Ply had an...let's say...incident involving a seizing portal taking his presence to an unknown world, in which he reemerged out of not only consumed by rage, but transformed by its apparent body-morphing capabilities. Well, it turns out he was able to be subdued within several hours of reemerging (though he had already caused quite some damage, and a lot of tranquilizer had to be used!) When he came to his senses again, poof - the rage had been completely neutered. Likely, the amount of tranquilizers used in subduing him had permanently altered his temperament and cortisol levels back to where they were before becoming literal demon spawn.
Now, because of his property damage and recklessness, he's on a 1-year rehabilitation program out in the wilderness. It's 10 months in, and it's the summer time, and as a long-time friend, you thought you'd go out to visit him. And wow, is it gorgeous out there, he found a spot next to the forever snow-capped mountains, in a field of tall grass, in an abandoned, graffitied train car which is dilapidated to the point the roof has gone, and a young tree has grown from underneath and out over the top. He's made this car his home - laying out a sheet of hay to sleep and get cozy on, and once he notices you, he sticks out his tongue and smiles. He is still choosing not to speak - due to hating the hostile pitch his voice still emanates (clearly, the amplified testosterone levels which cause this perceived hostility still persist - evidenced by his muscularity only shrinking a little). It'll probably be another few years for his size and voice to come completely back to normal - nonetheless, his wings are spread out open, and he is inviting you in for a long-time-no-see, all-embracing hug.
