This will be the second mallet that I have made so far in my time of doing wood working.
The first one I had made was good, but it wasn't exactly made right, so I wanted to make another.

Unfortunately , despite the fact this was was meant to replace the mallet that had made it, I will have to make another before I commit to completely discarding the original mallet.

The original had a lot more weight to it and this one is not as heavy. I'll have to get a larger block of wood.

This mallet is made from a piece of a shovel handle which was ash wood and the head was a section of maple log.
