Was looking at this old post based on a pokemon fan design. The water gun tail of Ratap reminded me of the description given to the newest water-starter-mon, Gecqua, by the official web site: "Gecqua has a short and bulbous tail, which it uses to launch springy balls of water." (We haven't yet seen this in action, though.)
I tried adding an effect to the painted water by brushing real water onto the page. This was a hand-me-down from an earlier idea I had for my Pokemon Reveal Fan Art featuring all the Water starters, where I was going to splatter more water all over the thing.
I was likely to draw Gec and Tap at comparable sizes, but the website gives the newt's size as 1' and I misread that as "one inch." I only just remembered that the single dash means 'feet' while typing this description. 😳
Would have titled this "Quick to the draw" instead of "Quicker," but it felt at odds with a drawing made more than a week after the announcement.
