'It'sa big duty... an ah dunnae kno' if'n ah'm up ta'it... ken tho' weren't gibbin fihre jus'ta kep it ta m'self...'
Tineadh, Wildfire Druid
Before I get in to the normal description for this guy... Tineadh is special to me. I normally don't go in to the detail of characters beyond their role in the games I play but...
Tineadh was the last character I made with Jim. We were in a game that sadly had to stop because life just got in the way of all the players. We told each other that we'd play our guys again in another game soon. My firbolg wildfire druid and his plasmoid echo knight figther. Obviously... that can't come to fruition at this point. But I want to at least give vision to the final person we would play together.
Now with that out of the way...
Tineadh was abandoned when he was a babe, or at least so he thinks. Living in the wilds and on the fringe of society, he grew up just trying to survive... wanting a better life for himself and not thinking he should just have nothing. Thankfully his natural firbolg gifts helped him to make it through from childhood to adolescence and beyond, he started to feel resentment towards those who had bonds. Not just with the wilds, but with each other. An abandoned child like him that didn't ever fit in... anger grew and grew...
One stormy night as he sought shelter from the rain, a bolt of lightning struck nearby, setting the small grove he was in on fire. Not wanting to lose his life here, Tineadh somehow made it out through the spreading flames. As he did so, he noticed that the inferno seemed to part for him... as if wanting to make sure he was going to be alright. Once he found himself to safety, the young firbold collapsed; exhausted and unaware that he had become awash in the flame of nature itself.
He did eventually find his gift over time, honing it and being able to call on the raging inferno that burns away to make way for creation - and with grim determination made way to the first city he could find and eager to put his gifts to work. What he saw there though... in his anger and justified rage at feeling left alone he overlooked that he himself wasn't the only one suffering. Many people did without. Many folk were alone even in a place full of people. And it's when he understood.
While he was right and fair to feel anger for civilization for his circumstance, he realized that he himself never tried to reach out. That he himself was expecting others to reach out to him. And while he hadn't let go of his anger... he realized there was so many people who didn't deserve the fires of destruction. But also likewise... the longer he stayed among others that he also saw the true darkside of civilization. And so he realized that even civilization was a part of nature.... and it too needed a guardian as well.
Reluctant to spread his flame, he found his place living on the streets. Moving from town to town and cultivating himself, learning more about the world and reaching out now, Tineadh wasn't a champion of the people... but determined to only burn away what needed to be turned to ash. But he's always aware that inside he has a vast inferno ready to be let loose. But he's also aware that it should still be used responsibly...
...boy that was a lot of words!
As always this was done by the amazing ForestGoblin - https://bsky.app/profile/neo-kajatrash.bsky.social - they captured Tineadh perfectly. Thank you so much again for this. You will always be appreciated and respected for this and all the work we've done together.
