My writings today take me to meet yet another new Called to Vakkert Sedd, albeit one has a unique boon compared to most, and for whom I'm actually fairly lacking much context on.
This very large, very fluffy woman standing at 7'8” tall was introduced to me as Juni by Terna, who was being pretty hush-hush about his nature being described to her. Since I've become such a good tour guide, he said, I should help her get a good footing on Vakkert Sedd, though he noted that she'd be “in and out.”
Most of the people who are called usually don't mind too much, frequently escaping some form of persecution, having nothing bonding them to their old lives, some of them even being true-feral animals gifted sapience. The exceptions who don't want to leave their life behind are able to return, but can't come back to Sedd, it's normally a choice that can't be repealed.
Juni told me when she first arrived, Terna explained the nature of being Called and she quickly, vehemently and firmly rebuked the idea of leaving behind her family and friends on her own homeworld and wanted to be sent back. It was then she was provided a pendant that allowed her to open portals to and from this world and hers – a sign of being an exception and a sign she has some form of important fate to fulfill here.
Once introductions and explanations were out of the way, I was able to get her talking about her home as I talked about Sedd. She told me she was an “Arcanine”, a Pokemon like Caenum, Uko, Asuki, Domitia and a number of others I had met before who used the same word to describe their species. Though the more she talked, the more the rules went against what had been established.
She told me she lived in a world where a large amount of Pokemon were fully sapient from the start and could freely shift back and forth into anthros, while the ones that were still true-feral were food. They lived alongside human beings in equitable relationships, even pairing off as mates without any objection or issue. This was a drastic difference from Caenum, Uko and Asuki who told me they were true-feral (if not very intelligent true-ferals) before being uplifted upon their own Calling, telling me Juni likely came from a variable world – similar but different, and always a massive headache to sort.
Arcanine like Juni normally harness the elements of fire, but Juni told me that an unusual mutation made one of her fire organs develop as an ice organ instead, granting her the ability to harness an oxymoronic “Frostfire” magic, where she casts out a fireball encased in a slurry ice that encases whatever it hits, trapping the object with the burning fire inside of the ice.
Instead of using her ability to fight, she used them for some form of talent contests, where she was quite proud to mention she had been a multi-time winner. She actually seemed hesitant to use her abilities to do actual harm, and seemed less than enthused when I mentioned that this is a world where people would still have to defend themselves, fatally if needed.
She mentioned she needed time to think things over, but was thankful for me providing her a bit of shelter and talking with her. I took plenty of time to explain the nature of Sedd to her and encouraged her to ease herself into being on this world, because it can be a shocking change especially from what sounded like a fairly happy, civilian life.
When she headed off to go check things out on her own, she gave me a... very warm, nearly backbreaking hug and started to show a less confused, and more bubbly outgoing personality, seemingly getting a bit more comfortable.
It's been a few weeks between our first meeting and writing this entry due to the Winter Festival and then my mate's Birthday, and since then I've heard her described by our news systems in favorable terms as “The Blazefrost Mage”, having saved people from various wild animals and other threats, while being bubbly and friendly the whole way.
I hope whatever “great destiny” is in store for her is a kind one. She seems to have a good heart.

I hope people like big ladies (I know you do).
Unsurprisingly like many furries I absolutely love Arcanines, they're not in my top 5, but definitely in the top 10. So I always had in the back of my mind I'd never actively seek an Arcanine out for a furry character, but if one crossed my timeline that felt like "the one", I would immediately jump on that. And one did, so I did!
Juni is a big, bubbly sweetheart, a statuesque ball of fluff and hugs with a unique spin of her capabilities born of a mutation. Juni comes from a different variation on the Pokemon world as mentioned above, a fair chunk of Pokemon are fully sapient, intelligent and have the capacity to shift between feral and anthro where it makes sense for them to, plus Humans. Because of this change in dynamic, trainer journeys and professional battling is closer to a team of boxers and their mentors giving strategies for MMA-like sporting events, and Pokemon/Human relations are totally accepted as a normal thing.
Because I always do these journal-style uploads on FA, which is strictly from Vel's perspective, a lot of details on Juni are actually lacking. If you want the full rundown on what she's like as a character, you can check out her toyhouse page on this link here, which is written more objectively.
I'm in love with this big cuddlebug though, I've already picked up a few commissions for her that are in need of an upload, so I'll probably work on those a bit later. Until then, enjoy!
Juni belongs to me!
