Inui represents a weird struggle to find a style I overall love. Characters with black, beady eyes are always kind of a difficult when it comes to finding a way to interpret them without losing a design element that's key to the character. I ran into the same issue with Fenneko as well. Here I think I managed to capture Inui's eyes in a fairly acceptable 'middle ground'. In a colored pass, I'd probably do some sort of brown hued inset for them. She strikes me as having big brown eyes.

I also love, love, love the 'ears as hair' kinda character design. It worked fairly well here I think.

So what is Miles anyway, half fox half wolf, American intern and introvert, barely keeping his sanity together as he counts down the days until the end of the internship. He won't give up, but that doesn't mean he's enjoying it either. The workload is bad enough, but it's the social expectations that are destroying him. The Nomikai is especially challenging for a teetotaler, thankful he's made at least on acquaintance willing to drink his beers for him. Still, it's ironic that he's both overly socially drained yet feeling so much more isolated than he was stateside. But a chance meeting at a vinyl record store really shakes things up for him.

Ceaser's Palace is technically alt rock/pop not Punk, so sue me.


Most of my sketches going forward aren't going on esix. Most feel a little too messy to share there.
