Original Submission Description:
At the end of the Viet Nam War, not even a quarter of the more than 4,500 US service dogs returned to the country they valiantly fought to protect. They were, instead, murdered by the government as reward for saving your brothers, husbands, sons, and fathers. Considered “equipment” by the United States government, the rest that were not turned over to the South Viet Nam army were heartlessly “put down” after surviving the brutal combat and harsh conditions of the war they served in. Some were even abandoned, per orders, left to starve to death or be eaten by the local people. Many soldiers admit their names would have been added to the list of dead had it not been for these four footed soldiers. Nothing like this should have ever happened to such heroes.
